Your New Academy
Our academy opened in September 2009 to 150 Year 7 boys on the site of Langbourne Primary School. We will:
- Build our student body a year at a time. When we reach full size, we will have 750 boys in Years 7 - 11 and 200 boys in our shared Sixth Form; with Harris Girls’ Academy, East Dulwich.
- Offer a full, broad and balanced curriculum and specialise in sport and enterprise. In our experience, these specialisms will promote key skills for life such as teamwork, creativity and confidence;
- Establish a mixed Sixth Form which we will operate in partnership with the Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich;
- Be moving to a new building on Peckham Rye that has been designed by award winning architects in September 2010;
- Involve parents in the education of their children. We will send Progress Statements home to parents every six weeks and regularly welcome them to come and meet with their child's teachers;
- Have a governing body that includes representation from teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and the Local Authority;
- Be sponsored by the Harris Federation of South London Schools, a registered charity with almost twenty years' experience in education.
