March is 'Maths Month'
During March Harris Boys have been celebrating Maths Month with plenty of opportunity to explore maths and test their skills in fun and exciting ways.
Maths Month has already got off to a flying start, with our World Maths Day competition. During which our boys battled it out with students from all over the world, competing for gold medals, certificates and prizes (we are currently awaiting results).
The boys are currently competing in groups in code breaking activities, to determine who has the potential to become a secret agent.
Monday 15th March is Pi Day and will be a non-school uniform day. All boys will be wearing clothes with a CIRCLE or PI(e) theme. Activities will be going o across all subjects - e.g. writing Pi poems, singing Pi songs
The final week is where the competition really begins. The boys have worked hard all year improving their ability to calculate mentally. They now have the opportunity to showcase these skills in the M.C. Challenge. The challenge will run for all the boys in the school, the main focus being times tables. As well as raising money for Great Ormond street Hospital, top students will also have a chance of claiming the M.C Title and our grand prize. For students whose strength lies in strategy, there will also be a Connect 4 competition running throughout the last week.
Happy Maths Month
