Jackey Petchey Award Winners - September to February

See who's won a Jack Petchey award so far this academic year. The Jack Petchey Oustanding Achiever awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of our outstanding students. The awards are run by the Jack Petchey Foundation.

Every student that wins a Jack Petchy award receives a £200 voucher for Harris Boys’ Academy and will be invited, along with family or guardians, to attend the coverted Jack Petchey Foundation Awards Ceremony at the end of the year.

September

Roney Adu-Poku

Roney was nominated as the outstanding achiever in September. Roney has started his second year at the Academy and made the brave move to apply for the student leadership team, knowing full well that KS4 are often the favourites. However, he was not put off by this. His determination and confidence shone through and Roney was voted in as the representative for his year group within the Jack Petchey Achievement Council and his application was so well presented and really demonstrated his passion for improving the Academy. Roney is a high achieving student with great expectation surrounding him. All of the staff would like to thank Roney for your continued hard work at the Academy. Well done with your award Roney.

Aaron Pike

Aaron was nominated as the outstanding achiever for October. Aaron has proven himself to be an asset to the school. He is a well organised student who participates in extra-curricular clubs and organises new events for students as a Sports Leader. His work with the Academy’s Jack Petchey Achievement Council, has enabled other winners to make purchases for their awards. He has shown excellent manners and has become a role model around the Academy. Well done Aaron.

Abdul Alaska Kamara

Abdul is our winner for November. Abdul was nominated for making an outstanding start in the Academy. Teachers only have positive, wonderful things to say about Abdul and his attitude is absolutely exemplary. Abdul is a fantastic, enthusiastic student who inspires others to learn. He is a role model and he is very able. His behaviour and friendly approach, coupled with his academic ability makes him a wonderful student to teach. Abdul was a new student this year, and he has already made such a positive impact. We are all looking forward to seeing how Abdul progresses in the coming years and would like to say a huge well done for winning this award.

Aziz Sankoh

Aziz was nominated as a stand out achiever in PE for January. Aziz has demonstrated an impeccable attitude to learning and, as a result, has been making outstanding progress. Aziz always gives 100% in lessons and strives to lead by example throughout the Academy. He often leads parts of lessons to enhance the learning of others and is selfless in his actions as he helps students whenever he can. He is known as an enthusiastic, well-mannered and hard-working student around the school and will always be an asset to the Academy.

Kaden Dixon

Kaden was nominated by the behaviour for learning leaders in February as a student who has made an astonishing leap forward with his attitude to learning and behaviour. Kaden has changed his attitude and focused on his learning this year which has really made a significant difference to his progress. He has been working alongside Mr Dyer, his mentor, to complete regular mentoring sessions as well as taking part in a boxing programme to channel his energy in a positive way. Kaden has really turned it around this year, and he thoroughly deserves this award!
