South London Cup Quarter Final - HBAED 5 Bacons 0

The Year 10 boys continued a brilliant week by winning their South London Cup quarter final game 5 – 0 against Bacon's.

You could see our boys had confidence from their victory on Monday when John was set free down the right wing. After a physical contest with the left back he hit a cross that looped over the keeper's head and put us one nil up.

From there it was close game, the ball was going up and down the pitch but our defence was holding strong. All of a sudden Enry put in a beautiful delivery from a corner that Gibril stroked home from six yards beautifully.

Close game

It was advantage us, but still a close game. Connor and Dexter were winning absolutely everything at the back for us. George made a great save to keep us 2 – 0 up and as we broke Enry was bought down 35 yards out. Mukhtar pulled rank as captain, stepping up and curling in a 35 yard beauty that left the keeper stranded. Enry then broke down the right and slotted the ball across the keeper for Clinton to tap home. Advantage us and 4 – 0 up at half time.

Dominating

The second half was more of a battle with Amine winning absolutely everything for us and dominating up and down the right. He was a different level. Ibrahim was solid in front of our back three. The game was close and it looked like Bacon's could come back into the game. Aaron set Enry away one on one, which he missed, George made some great saves, but we kept our 4-0 lead.

The moment that killed the game was when John set Enry loose who caused chaos at the back and went one on one with their keeper, smashing the ball in the top corner.

All in all, another incredible result for our Year 10s. They play the Harris cup final on Monday and STAC in the South London semi finals next week. Watch this space.

Man of the Match: Amine was absolutely incredible up and down the right wing for us.

Stepping up: Dexter ran the back three and kept another clean sheet, whilst Ibrahim marshalled the back three and played out well.
