Uber Reward Trip - Follow the Adventure as it Happens

Uber 30Day Four - Thursday 2 July

We ended our Uber adventure with an afternoon of 10 pin bowling at Hollywood Bowl......looking to bowl a strike or two!

The highest points scorer was 107 by Charlie - Congratulations!

Unfortunately the Uber Trip has come to its end; everyone has had an amazing four days away.

Students have throughly deserved this reward......keep those positive points coming in next Academic year and who knows, you may be rewarded with another fantastic Uber Trip!

Students have been outstanding throughout the entire trip, an absolute credit to the Academy

Uber 20Day Three - Wednesday 1 July

We spent the day at the splashtastic Alton Towers Waterpark. The Waterpark boasted hundreds of fantastic interactive water features, from lazy rivers and crazy cannons to the sensational speed of the Master Blaster water rollercoaster along with the Caribbean lagoon which offered gallons of water for all!!!

Everyone got drenched and had a fantastic time chasing one another down the flumes!

In the evening we took a stroll through Cotton Dell nature reserve with its steep sided woodland valleys and flower rich grasslands hunting down the Midlands Panther; the only sighting of anything of interest was a frog captured by Jem!

Again behaviour has been impeccable with no issues or concerns whatsoever.

Sadly tomorrow we'll be travelling back home, stopping en-route for 10 pin bowling. We'll be back at the Academy for 3pm.

Uber 4Day Two - Tuesday 30 June

Today we've spent the entire day at Alton Towers Theme Park; from the moment the gates opened until they closed students tested their courage and wit on tons of roller coasters and rides (with zero queue time!); watched amazing live shows and saw some weird and wonderful characters!

The park is home to Air, Oblivion and Nemesis, three of the world's best rollercoasters; along with Duel, Rita, Thirteen,The Haunted House, Sonic Spinball, just to name a few.

Today was one of the hottest days of the year and everyone appreciated the water rides for a well deserved cooling down!......with Mr Mills on constant suncream and water patrol, ensuring no one got burnt or dehydrated.

Everyone throughly enjoyed their day; again behaviour impeccable; no issues or concerns whatsoever. Tomorrow - Alton Towers Splash World.....

Uber 1

Day One - Monday 29 June

After a very early start to the day we arrived at Brampton Park (thankfully dodging the London rush hour traffic) where students enjoyed lunch in the blistering sunshine within the stunning gardens of the Brampton Manor.

After lunch students explored the gardens, woodland, adventure zone and pets corner!

In the afternoon we headed to Alton Towers Extraordinary Golf where students putted their way around two wacky 9 hole golf courses with outrageous obstacles themed around some of the most famous Alton Towers rides and attractions.......there was only going to be one winner!!!

All the students are having an amazing time......behaviour has been impeccable; a real credit to the Academy.

Uber-Trip-winnersOur Uber Trip takes place next week -  a 4-day, 3-night, thrill-seeking, high-adrenaline residential trip to Alton Towers resort, at no cost.

Pictures and reports will be posted here each day, so you can follow the adventure as it happens.

The trip is for the 15 students (pictured) with the most Harris points because they show an exemplary attitude to learning, attendance/punctuality, Harris manners, and continuously strive to exceed their personal best.

Announcing the names of the students, Principal Mr Everitt said: 'This trip is a reward for students who have been truly inspirational throughout the entire academic year and as such are seen as role models and ambassadors for Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich. A massive congratulations to these boys.”

Esteban was also included on the trip for producing the best homework this year.
