Key Workers - Letter to All Parents
Key workers Update
We are delighted to be able to play our part in the current situation by remaining open for vulnerable children, and the children of key workers on the frontline of the crisis.
We will need to follow government guidance on the definitions of 'key workers'.
National Health Service, Armed forces, Teachers and childcare staff, Care home workers, Social workers, Police officers, community support, civilian staff, Prison officer or other probation staff, Firefighters, Local authority planners, Environmental health officers, Highway Agency traffic officers, Supermarket delivery drivers.
The full list is set out here.
Families will be able to opt-in or opt-out on a weekly basis, we will need to see some evidence of your entitlement to this provision and please note that in line with social distancing, where you have any alternative options for childcare, your children should not be in school with others. But please do not leave your children with the elderly or other vulnerable adults. There will be a daily register, with the list of pupil names updated each week. If you have opted-in for the week, we will expect you to notify us by 8:30am if they are unable to attend on a particular day (or even sooner if you can). This will enable us to keep your children safe, plan for their day and make sure they have lunch.
Please could key worker families complete the form downloadable from our letters home page and email it with the documentation we have asked for to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will then contact you to confirm acceptance.
Teachers and support staff are developing our plans to ensure the kind of high quality provision we hope you would expect from us. At a time in which there is a great deal of anxiety and stress among families, we are doing our best to provide an environment that makes your roles as key workers easier to fulfil and ensures your children are well cared for and given the support they need. We will welcome children in on Monday morning and continue to develop our provision during this period.
Please could pupils arrive in school uniform, for 08:45. They will be dismissed from school at 14:00. Lunch will of course be provided as usual.
With best wishes
