Harris Sixth Form Visits Meta Office in London

Our Sixth Form students were recently invited to the Meta offices in London to participate in the Elevate Mentoring programme.

The Elevate Mentoring programme helps to develop key employability skills and knowledge areas through The Brokerage’s Skills Mapper Framework. Meta is one of the world's leading American multinational technology companies, famous for its social media and network platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

“The Meta Brokerage Program was an enjoyable and gripping session that allowed us to be engaged in all elements of future technology, such as Software Engineering, IT, and Data Scientist/Analysis," said Claudia, an IT student who attended the event and spoke glowingly about her experience.

"This opportinty allowed us to broaden our choices in tech as well as exposing us to various sectors which intrigued us as there was something for everyone. Furthermore, communicating with Meta members permitted us to understand what they do, how it affects the technological world and how we use things such as filters on social media platforms.

Meta2"When asking questions, the members were able to express themselves on how they relate with the brand and how they work. As a result of this, we were fascinated by their answers, the work that they put together and how they engaged with us in certain activities.

"Being at Meta was a sensational feeling, and this will inspire us to fulfill our ambitions in tech as we were able to dive deeper into tech. Meta is an amazing company and one day see ourselves working with them in the future as we all felt captivated by their way of working with tech and how it benefits the future world. This programme has  exposed me to a more unique sector of tech, which felt very inclusive as there was a path for everyone.”
