The Academy is organised into four learning hubs – World Studies, Creative Voice, Active Science and Business, Design & ICT – with every student belonging to a tutor group within one of the hubs.
The four hubs are designed to bring learning and student pastoral care (including behaviour) into the one system, rather than having different staff responsible for separate aspects of a student’s experience.
Whichever hub students belong too, all students will have access to the same curriculum. Healthy competition between hubs will encourage teamwork, with students vying to see who can collect the most points at the end of each term.
- Design and ICT (Information and Communications Technology)
- Modern Foreign Languages
- Humanities (History, Geography, Religious Studies)
- The Arts (Art, Drama, Music)
- PE and Dance
- Social sciences
Each hub is led by an Assistant Principal supported by a learning innovation leader and behaviour for learning leader – with all staff working closely together to make sure every student receives the best support possible. All students in a tutor group will be from the same Key Stage of the curriculum.
