Internal exams for years 7-10

End of year exams for pupils in years 7-10 will begin week beginning 5th June for years 7-9 and last a fortnight. For Year 10, they will begin on 19th June and last a fortnight.

The table below summarises some of the support material that your son/ward will have for subjects. Please do contact their class teacher if you have any further questions.

EXAM PREPARATION MATERIALS

English

Y7-Y8 practice tasks are in the term 3b homework booklet. Pupils will also be given a preparation book in classes before half term. Y9-Y10 have revision materials on the KS4 shared area and will also be provided with revision booklets.

Humanities

Revision checklists provided in class and pupils can use materials in exercise books.

Dance

Y7-Y9: Practical to take place in class. Written element will be a homework task. Y10 will have a full mock and will need to attend rehearsals in school.

Science

Pupils have materials on the online platform Kerboodle. Pupils in Y7 and Y8 also have a revision handbook that they must complete before the exams to support their revision.

Art

Y7-Y8: pupils can practice the skills and techniques developed this year. They will be re-assessed on these under timed conditions. Y9-Y10: pupils should refine the work in their books based on the GCSE matrix skills. These books will be assessed.

Mathematics

All pupils have revision materials that are year group appropriate on Hegarty. They will have an access code. Y9 and Y10 will also receive a GCSE revision booklet before half term.

Modern Foreign Languages

All pupils have revision materials that are year group appropriate provided in the form of a revision booklet. The booklet covers vocabulary as well as writing activities.

Religious Studies

Pupils have a revision guide that they should be following. This is also available online on Edmodo (all pupils have an individual code to access this)

Design Technology

Preparation tasks in homework booklets for Y7-Y8. Y9 and Y10 are provided with GCSE style revision booklets.

Food Technology

Preparation tasks in homework booklets for Y7-Y8. Y9 and Y10 are provided with GCSE style revision booklets.

Computing

Preparation tasks in homework booklets for Y7-Y8. Y9 and Y10 are provided with GCSE style revision booklets.

*NOTE: vocational subjects do not have end of year exams as they will have mock or real coursework tasks to complete which will be assessed.

HBAED examination policies and exam board policies (see below) are used concurrently. We cross reference our own policies against the Joint Council for Qualifications policies below. Our rules and regulations are based upon and make full use of all the JCQ rules and regulations including the Cambridge International Examinations and BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT.
