Yahya, Year 7

"I feel like I have grown tremendously as a student and young person this year."
My favourite experiences in Year 7 have been making new friends, being taught new subjects, and winning the Harris Cup Final with the Year 7 football team!
Making new friends has been a good and easy experience. I was able to make new friends through playing sports and also through having the same interests.
The biggest challenge I have faced in Year 7 was trying to be able to do all of my homework on time because of how much homework you get, as the teachers are trying to push you to be a better version of yourself.
The teachers have generally been good as they like to teach and always make time to help you if you need help. The atmosphere in school has been very good as people are willing to learn new things and help you.
My favourite lesson is History because I like knowing about what happened 1,000 years ago and why that affects me today.
The most exciting thing I've done at school has been going to Maidstone, Kent, with the Year 7 football team to pay a national cup match.
I feel like I have grown tremendously as a student and young person this year because of how I've been taught to deal with my emotions and also how much I've learnt in every subject.
What I am looking forward to in Year 8 is becoming a better student and young person as there is always space for improvement and also growing my friends group.
What advice would you give to students in Year 6?
Be yourself and to not worry about anything because a lot of people find secondary school to be a better experience than primary, and use it as an opportunity to try something you never would have tried in primary school.
