Rewards & Recognition

We take every opportunity to celebrate success and foster a culture of respect and kindness.

School rewards programmes can be a great way to help students do their best and feel good about their efforts. They motivate students and boost confidence too, as well as encouraging good habit and helping students to set goals.

When effort and kindness are celebrated, everyone feels included – creating a happier and more supportive school environment.

Harris Points

BadgesOur popular Harris Points scheme is an important part of school life for all students. Each day, students can earn Harris Points for everything from hard work and exemplary manners, to showing kindness to others and resilience. We award hundreds of Harris Points each day and record them all to share with parents.

It’s one of the reasons behaviour at our academy is so good – with success breeding success and students encouraged to keep on doing the right thing to get more rewards. Of course, if anyone’s behaviour or effort falls short, points can get taken away, but with every chance of putting that right and winning them back quickly.

Points win prizes! As students accumulate Harris Points, they will progress through various Reward Levels, receiving rewards throughout the year including trips, prize raffles, letters of congratulations sent to parents, and lapel badges (pictured).

Principal's Breakfasts

BreakfastIt’s a truth universally acknowledged that a young man in possession of good food is usually content. No wonder, then, that our monthly Principal’s Breakfasts are so popular – with boys served a special slap-up meal in the canteen before school.

To earn a prized spot at the table, boys are nominated by staff for exemplary attitude but also, for example, taking part in the school production or achievement at sport. The monthly Principal’s Breakfast is hosted by Mr Brett, with each student receiving a certificate and gift voucher.

These are happy occasions, with each one captured on camera and celebrated on our News and Highlights page.

Active Citizens Awards

To promote our Active Citizens values, we also hand our Active Citizens cards each week to students embodying the values of confidence, curiosity, respect, resilience and ambition. The cards can be exchanged for a for a free lunch or ten Harris Points.
