Music Bursary Students Shine at Winter Showcase

Our Year 7 Music Bursary students have had an exceptional start to the year, taking part in inspiring weekly sessions that have fostered both musical skill and collaboration.

The programme brings together a diverse mix of students, some highly experienced and others just beginning their musical journeys. It has been fantastic to witness them working together through music-making.

In December, students proudly showcased their progress at our sold out Winter Showcase. Two ensembles took to the stage, delivering confident and energetic performances. The first group captivated the audience with a powerful rendition of Eye of the Tiger, while the second band impressed with a beautifully performed Life Will Be by Cleo Sol.

The performances highlighted the breadth of talent within the bursary programme, featuring a rich blend of instruments including piano, drum kit, saxophone, trumpet, and guitar. Beyond the music itself, the real success lies in the teamwork, commitment, and growing confidence demonstrated by all students involved.

All sessions are expertly guided by Mr Herbert, whose teaches across guitar, Music Technology as well as composition and continues to inspire and challenge our young musicians.

With the Winter Showcase behind them, students are now enthusiastically working on new repertoire as they prepare for their next performance in the Summer Showcase. We eagerly await what they have in store.
