Exploring Careers in the Built Environment

Exploring Careers in the Built Environment

Our Year 12 Geography students attended a highly engaging Speed Mentoring Careers Event hosted by New London Architecture at their Aldermanbury offices on 16th March 2026.

Across the morning, students took part in a series of rapid mentoring conversations with professionals from across the built environment sector. They explored a diverse range of career pathways, including quantity surveying, planning, architecture, and regeneration, gaining valuable insights into how these roles contribute to shaping cities like London.

Students described the experience as interesting, informative, and extremely helpful, particularly in guiding their early thinking about future career aspirations and university pathways. Speaking directly with industry experts allowed them to better understand the skills, qualifications, and opportunities associated with each profession.

We extend our sincere thanks to New London Architecture for hosting such an inspiring event.
We would also like to thank our Harris Federation geography consultants for organising and co‑ordinating this valuable enrichment opportunity for our students.
