Cricket Team Play Streatham & Marlborough Cricket Club

Our cricket team played against Streatham & Marlborough Cricket Club (SMCC) in their yearly hardball cricket match at Mayow park earlier this month.

This fixture is always a great opportunity for our students to play against SMCC who the school work very closely with. Many of the players who represented HBAED in this match now also now play at SMCC so it was great for them to play against their teammates.

Some of the highlights were Subhan (Year 10) bowling his teammate at SMCC with stumps flying everywhere! Another highlight was the leadership and outstanding cricket knowledge that Isaac (Year 9) showed in field to ensure that the bowling load was rotated around the team.

With a range of players from Year 7 to 10 taking part in the match, it was great to see that all the work that Mr Davis (ACE Programme Coach) and Mr Edwards had put in with the boys on Thursdays throughout the winter paying off.

Many of the boys begun their cricket journey through attending 360 Cricket’s camps and courses when they arrived in Year 7. Spaces on their camps and courses are free for HBAED students as part of the schools partnership with 360 Cricket.

Find out more information about our bursaries. If you have any questions about cricket at HBAED please email Mr Edwards l.edwards@harrisdulwichboys.org.uk.

"The cricket bursary is brilliant. We have weekly coaching all year and I even get to attend the 360 Cricket coaching courses in the evening, and half-term camps. The bursary helped me settle into the school really quickly and make new friends with the same passion as me."
