BFI Trip Explores the Life and Work of Federico García Lorca

We recently visited the BFI Southbank with the Year 12 and Year 13 Spanish classes to discover more about Federico García Lorca, his life and his obra.

The students had the opportunity to explore Lorca’s artistic world through film clips and talks delivered by Spanish experts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and University of Bristol.

They also took part in interactive discussions that highlighted Lorca’s innovative style and enduring cultural impact. Learning about his poetry, theatre and political context helped deepen their understanding of the themes they study in class, while also bringing Lorca to life as a passionate and influential figure in Spanish literature.

It was an inspiring experience that enriched their appreciation of both the language and its artistic heritage.
