Summer Assessments for Years 7, 8, 9 and 10

This term we have our final formal Summer assessments for Years 7, 8, 9 and 10. See the assessment schedule to see when they are happening.

These are the assessments that will be used for data on your student's Summer report, which will be released in the final two weeks of Term 3b in July.

If you need further information, please see the assessment overviews below or contact the teachers listed on the overview for further information.
Years 7, 8 and 9 have their assessments in classrooms when students have that lesson. Nevertheless exam conditions are expected in these assessments. Your son will be made aware of exactly when their assessments take place. Teachers will be putting work on Teams where appropriate or directing students to the content they need to revise.

We do not want this period to be an overly stressful time of the year, so please speak to our BfL or Pastoral Team if you have any concerns.

Year 10 exams - preparation and revision

Year 10 exams will take place in the Sports Hall or Access room. The exam period runs from Wednesday 16th June to Tuesday 30th June.

Teachers have already began to prepare students for these assessments. Revision will be placed on Teams or in booklets provided by subjects.

We would expect Year 10s to be revising for these exams. We suggest 2 or 3 sessions of 45 minutes per evening, with a 15 minute break in between sessions.

We also strongly suggest revising without having access to a phone as this can seriously disrupt concentration. We suggest this pattern for revision:

A) making notes of key content

B) repetition of key content and then

C) Being tested on that content.

Parents can really help with point C of the above.

The results from these assessments will form the grades on their Summer report which will be released in July.

The Spanish Speaking assessment and Art exam dates are still to be confirmed. We will provide further information about these when available.

Thank you
