Henok, Year 7

"I feel I have grown in confidence and resilience."
My favourite thing in Year 7 is the wide options outside the curriculum. There is science, sport, drama and more. My biggest challenge was adapting to all of the older years and the crowding of lunch lines. Eventually I adapted into it.
The teachers were very welcoming and understood how I felt in this new environment. In the changeover between one lesson and another it was loud as there were lots of people moving around but the teachers calmed them down.
My favourite lesson is History mostly because the stories are interesting and in the outside world when I go places I have a bit of context of why certain things happen.
The most exciting thing I have done is getting 100% in a test revising very hard!
I feel I have grown in confidence and resilience which will play a big part when you’re in secondary school. I am looking forward to an even bigger curriculum but it will not be easy.
What advice would you give to students in Year 6?
My advice is if you're nervous then there is always someone to go to, and you will adapt to the school very, very quickly.
