Macquarie Bank Visit Inspires Sixth Form Economists

Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich recently welcomed representatives from Macquarie Bank, who visited the Academy to speak with our Sixth Form Economics students about careers in the financial sector.

A team from Macquarie Bank delivered an engaging and informative session, giving students an insight into the organisation and the wide range of career pathways available within it. The talk covered Macquarie’s global presence, its role in financial services, and the skills and attributes the organisation looks for in future employees.

Students also had the opportunity to learn about different entry routes into the industry, including graduate schemes, internships and apprenticeships. The session encouraged students to think critically about how their current studies in Economics and related subjects can support their future ambitions.

Our Sixth Form students were highly engaged throughout, asking thoughtful questions about day-to-day working life, career progression and the realities of working in a large international organisation. The visit provided valuable real-world context to their studies and helped students better understand how economic theory translates into professional practice.

We would like to thank the Macquarie Bank team for taking the time to visit the Academy and for offering such practical and inspiring guidance. Experiences like this are invaluable in helping our students make informed decisions about their future careers.
