Celebrating Our Elite Readers - A Journey Through Stories Completed
We are delighted to celebrate a remarkable group of students who have achieved Elite Reader status for their year group as part of the Lifelong Readers Challenge.
Librarian Mrs Edwards said: “This milestone recognises not just enthusiasm for reading, but commitment, curiosity and a genuine love of exploring books across the whole library. I’m delighted for these young men!”
To reach Elite Reader status, students completed an ambitious reading journey, travelling right around the library by reading one hand‑picked book from each of the 12 library genres. Along the way, they broadened their tastes, discovered new authors and genres, and challenged themselves as confident, independent readers.

Elite Readers were celebrated in style. Principal Mr Brett rewarded each student with a gold lapel badge, an Elite Reader certificate, a book token, a sweet treat, and an invitation to a special Principal’s Breakfast in recognition of their outstanding achievement. These rewards sit alongside those already earned by the boys at Super Reader level, marking this as an exceptional moment in their reading journey.
Although this year’s Lifelong Readers Challenge is complete for these boys, the story is far from over. A new Lifelong Readers journey awaits these students when they move into their new school year in September.
In the meantime, librarian Mrs Edwards is busy creating personalised reading journeys, tailored especially for each Elite Reader, to keep their love of reading growing.
