Geography Field Trip to Whitstable

Sixty Five Year 11 Students visited the coast at Whitstable this term to complete the physical fieldwork needed to support with their GCSEs.
Here they investigated the effectiveness of the sea defences at preventing erosion of the coastline using four different primary fieldwork methods. The trip help deepen students understanding of concepts and processes they have learned in the classroom, such as the effectiveness of hard engineering and the theory of longshore drift.
Following this trip they have been able to select and complete appropriate data presentation methods to display their findings and reach a conclusion.
