Year 10 Scholars Explore Advanced Learning Techniques
Students from Year 10 made the short trip to Harris Academy Bermondsey in November, for an illuminating series of activities provided by the Harris Experience team.
The event was the first in a series of regular planned experiences, with this one providing the opportunity to develop advanced learning techniques, discuss university entry requirements and explore from a philosophical perspective the kind of questions that might be posed at potential university entrance interviews.

Presentations were provided by regular contributors to Harris Experience days: The Life Skills Company and The Philosophy Foundation.
The opportunity to sharpen study skills, evidence techniques for efficient note taking and reveal possibilities to excel at both skim-reading and speed-reading produced remarkable results from the tips that were provided!
The Philosophy Society in turn provided their expertise in the field of philosophical discussion, evidenced here in the photo at a 'cocktail party of ideas' (teetotal!), where students from Harris Dulwich Boys mixed with students from other academies in the Federation in discussions.
Those introductions and discussions will surely stand them in good stead as further opportunities arise to share such experiences in the near future.
