From Year 10, students can embark on an exciting journey through the BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise. Our engaging curriculum ensures students leave equipped with the enterprise mindset essential in today’s fast-paced world.
In Year 10, students investigate real businesses to understand what makes them successful, delving into the skills of entrepreneurs, customer needs, and the influence of market research and external factors.
They then apply this insight by planning and presenting their own micro-enterprise idea, where they develop their own business proposals – honing creativity, financial planning, and presentation skills. This hands-on, skills-based approach not only builds confidence but lays the groundwork for future success in business, employment, or further study.
In Year 11, students focus on marketing and finance for enterprise. This unit challenges students to apply their learning from Year 10 to real-world scenarios, where they analyse financial data, interpret marketing strategies, and make informed recommendations to improve business performance. Through engaging case studies and structured assessments, students develop crucial skills in problem solving, data interpretation, and strategic thinking. This component not only prepares students for success in exams but also equips them with the financial literacy and commercial awareness needed for future academic study or a career in business.
Sixth form – a dynamic career-focused qualification
In our thriving Sixth Form, students study the CTEC Level 3 Business course, a dynamic and career-focused qualification that develops the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed in the modern business world.
Through a combination of coursework and exams, students explore key areas such as marketing, finance, business decision-making, and the global economy. With practical, real-world scenarios at the heart of the course, students gain hands-on experience in analysing business performance, planning strategic campaigns, and understanding the challenges faced by organisations today.
This qualification provides an excellent foundation for university, apprenticeships, or direct entry into employment – and prepares our young people to become the future leaders and innovators of industry.
