Last week Year 10 Harris Experience students were selected to take part in an event hosted with Kalisher Trust.

Kalisher Trust is an organisation devoted to widening participation and improving diverse representation across the bar. They work to inspire students to feel that law is a potential career path, regardless of the students’ individual background or circumstances.

The day gave students a valuable insight into the legal career and how law functions in British society. They heard from barristers with Kalisher on a specific case and worked within groups to develop some of the necessary skills for a legal career. They ended the session with a mock trial of the case they had been studying that day.

Students have previously attended events with Kalisher which shone a light on how every student has a role as a legal citizen and jurors of the future. This event further underlined this by giving students a chance to put their learning to practice within a set scenario.
