Harris Federation Sports Day, Thurs 9 July - Full Details

Crystal Palace athletics stadium

The Harris Federation Sports Day will be held at Crystal Palace National Sports Stadium on Thursday 9  July and all students must attend either as a competitor or spectator.

Your son/ward will need to register at the Harris Boys’ Academy, East Dulwich in full Academy uniform as usual.  He will follow his conventional timetable up to the end of form time.  Following this students and staff will leave the Academy by coach and travel to the Crystal Palace National Sports Stadium to support those competitors who have been selected to represent the Academy. Your son/ward will be been notified of his bus number and bus leader.

The event is due to finish at 2.15pm and we are expected to arrive back at the Academy at 3.00-3.45pm  Please note that your son/ward must return to the Academy by coach at the end of the day and will not be able to go straight home from the stadium.  He will need to bring a packed lunch, as there will not be an opportunity to purchase refreshments at the stadium.  Those students receiving free school meals will be supplied with a packed lunch, which he will be allocated during form time.

As a spectator, your son/ward must wear full Academy uniform.  As this event will take place outside, he may also wish to bring a waterproof jacket in case of rain.  In case of warm weather conditions it is essential that all students bring sun lotion and plenty of drinking water for the day.

Your son’s/ward’s behaviour during the day will be a reflection on the Academy and may influence decisions taken about their participation in future trips and activities.  I would therefore ask you to remind him to be polite and well behaved at all times.  The Academy’s rule on mobile phones also applies during trips.

I hope that the day will be an excellent opportunity to cheer on our athletes and see just how well we can do against all the other academies within the Federation.
