Boys Auction Art at Christies for Charity
Year 9 Harris Experience cohort were given the fantastic opportunity to create and sell their own art work at a live auction at the world renowned auction house Christie’s. With the help of Miss Avloniti, pupils created artwork inspired by Aleksandra Mir.
Two lots were entered from the boys - one inspired by the thought of racism and another about the history of the Harris Federation. The two lots were sold raising a total of £150 for Save the Children charity to help children affected by the Nepal earthquake. The entire Harris Federation lots raised almost £3000 for the charity.
The boys had a thoroughly enjoyable day, highlighted by taking part in the auction with the help of Nii-Akwei holding the hammer. The boys would like to thank all the staff at Christie’s Auction House, the Harris Experience team and Miss Avloniti and Miss Wooldridge for organising the day and accompanying them on such an interesting and rewarding trip.
