Football - Year 10 Boys Back With A Bang - COLA 1 – 2 HBAED

After 18 months without a game, school football fixtures are back at HBAED! Our Year 10 team took the short trip over to COLA, for a local derby on their brand new 3G pitch.

It was great to see the orange army back out and playing football and you could see from early on that we were the better side. Idris, Joakim and Omar bossing the midfield, with Nana and Emmanuel running riot up front.

Football 2

It wasn’t long before a through ball from Joakim put Emmanuel through, and he had the audacity to lob the goalkeeper from 25 yards to put us one nil ahead.

It was not clean sailing from here though, with Joshua and Devontae getting forward Kian and George had to battle hard at the back and a few moments of composed goalkeeping from Mohammed left us one nil up at half time.

The boys continued well after the break, Melvin setting the high press and winning the ball back for us regularly. Joshua then hit a corner to the near post where Joakim leapt like a salmon above everyone to put us 2-0 up.

Despite some clumsy defending at the end and a goal from COLA, that Mohammed came so close to saving, we bounced back from 18 months off with a fantastic 2-1 win.

Massive thanks to Mr Cooper for supporting the game.

Mr May
