Extra-Curricular Activities

Click HERE to see our list of extra-curricular activities for 2023-24. Students can just turn up and do not need to sign-up in advance.

Clubs Offer 202324We offer over 40 extra-curricular clubs covering areas such as music, dance, drama, sport and academic subjects, including science, Spanish and journalism. Clubs will change throughout the year with more being added in Music, Food Tech and Enterprise.  We will notify you of changes each half-term.

Nearly all clubs are free. The only clubs that involve costs/sign-up are Cooking Club and Duke of Edinburgh Award. We will write seperately to parents on how to apply for these clubs when they begin later in the academic year.

Participating in extra-curricular clubs helps young people build the character and resilience needed to be successful in life. We believe that all students should attend at least one club per week - whether that is at the academy or through a club that takes place in the local community (see some links below).

Read news stories about our clubs, trips and visit. We want every student to have the chance to shine. Whenever there is demand for a new club or activity, we will always try to find a way to make it happen.

Pupils seize opportunities to extend themselves and do so with maturity." Ofsted, November 2023

Extra-curricular opportunities outside of school

Click on the links below to find out more about extra-curricular clubs and activities you can try outside of school. We'll be adding more links in the coming weeks.

Year 7 Activity Passport

Activity BookletAs we welcome our new Year 7s to Harris Boys' we want to support them in their transition to becoming successful young men. We believe that engaging in activities outside of the classroom allows our young men to build the character and resilience they need to succeed in the wider world.

We are therefore asking all the boys in Year 7 to sign-up to at least one extra-curricular club during their first year at Harris Boys'.  We are also encouraging all our Year 7s to complete our Activity Passport which can be downloaded below.  Boys that complete the passport at any point in Year 7 should show it to Mr Sedgewick so that their achievements can be recognised by the wider community through our assemblies and website. Download your Activity Passport.

School trips

At Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich we make sure students enjoy regular opportunities to expand their learning outside of the classroom. Read news reports on some recent trips.

Our curriculum is also enriched by the many organisations and professionals who visit our academy, including the Royal Ballet and local artists as part of Artists Open House.

“School trips are an important part of learning,” says Principal Peter Groves.  “They boost students’ confidence and deepen their understanding of the wider world. That’s why we make sure opportunities like this are available to every student.”
